      This course provides essential Revenue Management methodology for employess in the Hotel, Restaurant & Catering, MICE, Casino, Wellness & Health Care Service Businesses.

      This HRM course is an English variant of the established German 2 SWS, 2,5 ECTS Revenue Management in Tourism basic course with a stronger focus on Revenue Management in selected Hospitality Industries and a smaller focus on airline revenue management or the mathematical aspects of revenue management.

      Audience:
      Advanced Students of Bachelor Programmes or Master Programmes for Toursm or Service Management.

      Outline:
      The course starts with an introduction into the objectives, importance and necessary conditions for revenue manegent in the hospitality management industries are discussed.

      By the example of Hotel Revenue Management the most important methods of hospitality management are explained in detail and trained with Excel exercises. A special focus is set on measures and key performance indicators of revenue management as well as on benchmarking as an important base for strategic and tactical pricing & capacity decisions.

      The second part of the course shows the revenue management methodology is transfered to other hospitalty industry sectors with an emphasis on the revenue management specificities of Restaurant & Catering Revenue Management, Function Space and MICE Service Management, Spa/Wellness/Health Care Services Revenue Management
      Golf Courses/Casinos/Theme Park Revenue Management, etc

      The course closes with an overview about Airline Revenue Management and a glimpse on advanced topics and recent trend of the Revenue Management discipline.


      Prerequisites:
      Students must be able to read and write Business English on an academic level.

      Students should have studied successfully basic economics, business administration, business mathematics, service management and tourism courses. The course is targeted to higher semesters with solid Excel knowledge!

      Exam:
      Written Moodle Test (Online/Randomized Open Book) or Seminar Paper
